For all those who were doom-and-gloom: I've learned my lesson a long time ago. You NEVER count out the Patriots or Sox. Too many times I've frothed and foamed on a board about how awful the team(s) look, and the next thing I know they win the game and I look stupid, LOL.

Cora has really been coming up big-time, but I'm not sure they're going to bench Pedroia just yet. I think they like bringing Cora in off the bench. However, it's clear that Cora's going to get a lot more playing time than planned; they probably figured to sub him in once every few games, but the way he's been playing I bet he makes it into almost every game midway.

Schilling didn't look very good, but on the other hand I also blame Francona for actually pitching to A-Rod. His two homers accounted for 4 runs, and his leadoff double led to a 5th.

This certainly sets them up for good things over the weekend, going against two Yankee pitchers who are definitely NOT Pettite or Mussina...

Terrific win last night. Complete team effort. I could not even attempt to definitively name a Player Of The Game. So many small, important contributions across the board. Tough loss for the Yanks, too. They lost in the same fashion they'd won the day before. Oh well, boo hoo.

Let's hope Beckett can keep riding the wave today as the Yanks lineup has a career .852 OPS against him (and that includes Carl Pavano's career goose-egg against Beckett).
