Why is the list of people with the most rep different than the list of people with the most brownie points then?

Go to userCP and look at your latest reputation received, it should equal your brownie point
as for you previous post, maybe something UT needs to answer

It's odd that CKA has 93 posts but 46 brownie points. Some of you dudes are suckin' up way to hard.

Ya...stop wasting it on a Colts fan and give it to me. ;)

Weird.
Maybe it has something to do with post count too or something. The last extended outage on PP, CKA went on a reputation kick. There was a whole thread on it and many rep points were doled out.

There's brownie points at PP as well? How do you see them? I assume I can't see them because, well, I probably have none there.

I think he was talking about how this place becomes the PP temporary forum when the main PP site goes down...

Ah, gotcha. I freely admit that when PP goes down, I just sort of go back to work. Call me crazy but it's true.

I don't remember PP being down since I've been there...or maybe I just don't post enough. :icon_eyes

Yeah this board sole existence used to be for when patriotsplanet.COM went down. When I created Soxplanet, I just used the same board and changed the colors and forums, etc....but everyone on PP who registered here is still registered here.

You know what it is, whoever gives you brownie points gives you a certain amount - for example, an Admin rep gets you more points than if a Rookie poster gives you rep.
By the way, does that earn a point UT? :D I want to beat mikie (no offense dude)

I don't think that's it, either. You gave me my first rep the other day and it was only worth one point...so since you're a Veteran wouldn't it have counted for more than that?
But I do know for a fact that mod/admin rep counts for a lot more than regular member rep.

Ok here are some of the settings. I set it up for long term so people do not max out on rep too easily.
Admin has 10 points of rep altering power.
For every 365 number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 1000 number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. (maybe I should reduce that)
For every 100 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

It doesn't really work on cops unless you're a really good looking girl...
The other two were true though. :D

No, man, in my situation I have had to talk to the cops a LOT ... let's just say I've had the cops called on me 3 times in ONE week by my crazy mother (and those aren't the only times), and I actually got her arrested once. I never got in trouble. The trick with cops is to look them in the eyes, have a respectful tone (call them sir, or officer), and be honest with them as much as you possibly can.
I'm just rambling but one time when she called the cops because I yelled at her and some spit got in her face *BY ACCIDENT*, the cop that came up to talk to me I just happened to sell a TV to a week before! He was a young guy and I did a good job with him - as a salesman, thats what you do, try to come off as a good guy. So he comes up and says "hey, how ya doin man?" and I couldn't help but smile. Everybody knows that when a woman calls in a domestic violence call (she told the cops I hit her *untrue*) that the guy is almost ALWAYS picked up. I talked to him and told him what happened. He came down in my room, through the door that I broke and put a hole in, and looked at all the beer cans and blunt wrappers on the table. He said "Don't worry, I'm not here about that," gave me his card, and said if I ever need to talk to call him. Even visited me later at work to get his delivery scheduled sooner, lol.
There is such a thing as brownie points with cops ;)
EDIT: Plus, I've gotten pulled over 4 times for speeding and never gotten a ticket. And I don't have tits! It's crazy! It's all about respect from what I can tell.

Oh definitely an Eddie Haskell. "No, Mrs. Smith, Chris doesn't drink when I'm around, he knows better than that!"

Yea, 1000 seems a bit much. Mabye cut it in half?
By the way, do you get more rep-altering power for being on a higher level? For instance, because I'm level 2 now do I give 2 points?

Yeah, I have the tendency to read something and not register it into my mind. I'm pretty good at that.

Haha ya I guess...you got lucky though. If you hadn't known the cop you would've been screwed.

Oh and another thought about rep: I don't really like how we can't rep the same person more than once without repping someone else. I like to share the wealth, but if someone has made two good posts then I'd like to acknowledge that.

What is all this rep stuff you are talking about? Being invisible I guess has it's disadvantages.
Is there a way to see how many rep points you have given to others?

Know what I've done if I want to rep someone consecutively but can't? I give Newsbot a rep and then come back to the other guy's post.

RP points are awarded by DMs when they notice good roleplaying. Unfortunately there arent always DMs about to see whats going on. They are there more often than people think though.
