Watching the highlights while everyone else naps off their easter dinner...Hanley Ramirez hamstring injury. Who was it that called him a young Jose Reyes? God i feel almost psychic. I know its not nice to make fun of players getting injured, but i DID call it.

The armspeed was ok but the command was lacking. It's all about being a commander. Cobra Commander, if memory serves correct. But last I saw, he was on a 5 minute smoke break with Destro.

Joe Morgan makes me strongly consider pressing the SAP button on my remote control.

On Saturday i was watching the Mets Braves game and Tim McCarver (who i dispise almost as much as Joe Morgan) absolutely berated some player for doing a head first slide. He went on for what seemed like an hour about dangerous it was, and how Lou Brock never did a head first slide, blah blah blah. Anfd then Jose Reyes hurt himself doing a feet first slide. Luckily it wasnt a serious injury, and if it had been i wouldnt have posted this, but it was precious listening to McCarver try to backtrack about the feet first slide.

A little credit to Texas here:

I know our guys have been swinging early and seemingly often but Texas has made some great plays in the field and made them look relatively routine. There have been many hard hit balls by guys that we are griping about (Manny and Crisp to name two) and Texas is simply playing solid, fundamental defense.

That ball the Blalock charged? Not easy.

Lofton has twiced ranged as deep as he can go to rob Manny of extras.

Don't get me wrong, some guys are flat out struggling at the plate right now and helping pitcher's out. I just wanted to tip my cap to Texas I suppose. They have made few mistakes.

Completely agree--this lineup is still gelling as the parts are a little different this year. I think they'll be fine.

Though we should note that they've had a change at Hitting Coach (Dave Magadan) which could be influencing new approaches at the plate.

Good point. Plus I think with some guys pressing early, the cold temps, and a fastball pitcher maybe they just think swinging early gives them an advantage!

1st and 3rd with one out and the tying run 90 feet away, only needing a relatively deep fly ball to score and tie the game and he just shut them down.

Michael Young is one of the best two-strike hitters in the game. With two-strikes he changes his stance and drops his stride completely to where he doesn't even lift his front foot. Of course, none of that helps if you don't swing.
